Hi, I’m Stine Theede.

For 30+ years I have been training dogs and people.

I have been a dog training instructor since the mid-1980s. In the early years, I was a student under Roger Abrantes in Denmark. That lead to working as an instructor for a small, private dog training business.

Later I was certified as a Danish Kennel Club instructor and ran classes for them before I moved to the US.

At the University of Copenhagen I majored in General Psychology and Developmental Psychology with an emphasis on the interaction of dogs and people.

For many years, I have helped and worked at shelters and rescues with an emphasis on behavior evaluations and issues.

I am a strong believer in continued education and consequently read books and articles, watch videos/CDs, listen to podcasts, and attend seminars.

Training Style

My training approach and techniques are gentle, effective, and free of pain and fear. It is very important to me that we respect dogs as intelligent individuals with needs, preferences, and usually good reasons for doing what they do whether we want it or not.

I am member of and align myself with the Pet Professional Guild, The Association of Professional Dog Trainers, and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.

A major advantage of being an experienced trainer that continues to study new techniques, science, and ideas is that I have the skills to not treat all dogs the same but take into account the personality and learning style of each individual dog - and owner.

Foster Dogs

As a foster parent I get to practice what I teach on a daily basis, especially since I often foster dogs with behavior issues or those that haven’t experienced and learned to live as pets.
